The stock market is soaring and we are going to crank up the Victrola, and party like it's 1928!
Throw caution to the wind and enjoy prohibition-era cocktails, music, food and dancing, as we transport you back in time to the Jazz Age.
This is certainly not your grandfather's bathtub gin! Our friends at Corgi Spirits have brought finely crafted spirits and cocktails to Jersey City, and to celebrate, they have graciously offered to host the Jersey Art Exchange's (JAX) December fundraiser. All proceeds will help to fund JAX's afterschool Teen Art/Technology Programs.
Come out to Corgi Spirits at the Jersey City Distillery, Thursday, December 14 to enjoy some fine cocktails, music, and food at this hip new Jersey City institution and support a worthy cause. Admission to the fundraiser is $50, and includes discounted drinks, appetizers, and other surprises. You are encouraged to wear prohibition-era attire if you feel the spirit move you!
All proceeds from this event will go to the Jersey Art Exchange (JAX), a Jersey City arts and technology center located on Monticello Avenue that provides afterschool programs for local teens, including free music lessons, media and technology workshops and a safe place to call their own. JAX is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit.

Michael Cumella (aka Phonograph DJ MAC) will be spinning vintage records on antique phonographs at the JAX December 14 fundraiser, giving our Speakeasy Shindig additional prohibition-era flair. DJ MAC has been involved in collecting, restoring and sharing crank-up phonographs for over 30 years. As a recognized expert on the acoustic era (1890-1925) of our recorded history, MAC has been host of The Antique Phonograph Music Program on WFMU since 1995 playing these disc and cylinder machines live "on the air" for an international audience. As the creator of the Phonograph DJ concept, MAC has traveled nationally and internationally for events. MAC is also active in buying, selling and restoring phonographs and makes house calls to diagnose machines. Find out more here: http://michaelcumella.com/phonographdj/index.html
